Het is geen geheim meer. voor jaren was progreso alleen een slaapende vissers dorp.In de jaren 50 begonnen de meridanos zomerhuisjes te bouwen langs de kust, om te ontsnappen aan de tropische hitte van juli en augustus. Ook gebruikte men deze huizen gedurende 2 weken van pasen.Voor de rest van de 10 mnd waren de vissershuizen rustig en de stranden mooi en leeg.In de jaren 60&70 ondekte een klein groepje Amerikanen en Canadese Progreso als winter paradijs.ze deden er alles aan om dit geheim te houden. In the meaning of: falling in love with: ...Mexico,...the Maya culture,...the ocean,...the relaxed atmosphere,...etc...etc...etc. The hotel is situated across the street of the beach and a five minute walk to the center of the 'malecon' (main-boulevard). We have large fully equipped- rooms, lobby/reception area, a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool and a relaxing hammock area for whom wishes to relax in a Mexican way. We wanted to make the hotel interesting for relaxers, sunbathers and cultural tourism and considering the neighborhood of Yucatan, they all will have it their way.
